Project 3 Consulting is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver groundbreaking solutions to solve data and analytics challenges for our clients. Analytics Engineers work with our clients directly on their data and analytics projects to unlock solutions and drive results. The day-to-day work includes data layer architecture and implementation, data analysis, dashboard creation, tag management configuration, and analytics QA. 

Analytics Engineers must be detail-oriented, work collaboratively with others, and be proficient in using data to provide strategic advice. They play an active role as subject matter experts – aligning client needs with innovative data collection, reporting/visualization, and storytelling to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital marketing and web analytics, a track record of implementing and maintaining accurate tags, and be able to strategically communicate the value data can bring to an organization. 

  • Audit and document the state of analytics within websites and applications to help clients configure and modify their reporting based on business needs.  

  • Implement new tags or change existing tagging via a Tag Management Solution. 

  • Write custom JavaScript to parse data from a web page or application. 

  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and produce technical documentation (including data layer updates). 

  • Validate/QA tagging requirements against acceptance criteria and troubleshoot all tagging and trafficking issues. 

  • Follow technical best practices and development approaches for multi-channel datasets. 

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and educator on analytics implementation, best practices, technologies, governance, and platform options. 

  • Streamline and document processes for new and ongoing tagging. 

  • Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and optimization specialists to define requirements, KPIs, and brainstorm optimization opportunities. 

  • Advise on A/B testing strategies and test ideas to drive revenue for clients. 

  • Collaborate with sales, developers, business analysts, and enterprise architects to solve complex analytics requests for the entire lifecycle of a project (including selection of appropriate frameworks, tools and methodologies). 

  • Lead quarterly reviews with business teams to identify data collection opportunities in support of business questions and organizational priorities. 

  • Collaborate and manage the relationship with external vendors for successful completion of analytics deliverables. 

  • Establish tagging governance to maintain quality and prevent data loss. 

  • Leverage anomaly detection to catch and resolve data issues in a timely manner. 


  • Proficiency with technical implementation of analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. Preferably, candidates will be able to adapt their industry expertise to a variety of analytics, optimization and marketing tools needed. 

  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics. 

  • Experience with A/B testing tools such as Google Optimize, Adobe Target, Optimizely, etc. 

  • Skilled in Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Ensighten, Signal, and Adobe Launch. 

  • Fluency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS. 

  • Experience designing and using a Data Layer to populate tagging data. 

  • Experience debugging JavaScript code and validating tags and data layers. 

  • Ability to write clear technical documentation or update existing documentation. 

  • Comfortable presenting ideas and sharing best practices with clients. 

  • Highly motivated, team-oriented self-starter looking to have an impact. 

  • Skilled communicator (both written and verbal).
